The Chairman, House Committee on Alternative Education, Alhaji Mustapha Aliyu Abdullahi says the legislature is committed to assisting the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education to execute its mandate.
He stated this when the new Executive Secretary of the commission, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris paid a familiarization visit to the committee at the National Assembly, Abuja.
Alhaji Mustapha said the committee would ensure the provision adequate funding for the millions of Nigerian children to be taken off the streets.
The Chairman House Committee on Alternative Education also said he believed the new Executive Secretary is competent to pilot the affairs of the commission.
Responding, the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to discharge his responsibilities with passion and dedication.
Dr Idris said with the support of all stakeholders and Nigerians generally, the menace of Almajiri and out-of-school children would be a thing of the past.
